Len Elias


Member of the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy (CIPFA).
MA in Management.
Extensive knowledge of Education finance.
Many years experience as a governor in both the Secondary and Primary sector.

Sir Peter Fahy


Peter Fahy was a police officer for 34 years including five years as Chief Constable of Cheshire and seven as Chief Constable of Greater Manchester. As well as dealing with every imaginable type of incident in that time he also took the lead in many change programmes and was active on national policy work including on terrorism and on workforce reform and leadership development. He is now the Chief Executive of the street children charity Retrak which is based in Cheadle Hulme and works in Ethiopia, Malawi and Uganda. He is also President of Manchester East Scouts, Chair of the Plus Dane Housing Association and a trustee of the Catholic Diocese of Salford and a number of other charities. He has been a school governor for over 25 years and is an honorary professor at the University of Manchester. He was knighted for services to policing in 2012.


Cathy Fisher


My work experience is within Payroll and Pensions administration.
I worked for the Ministry of Defence (MOD) for twenty years and acquired a wide range of management skills.

Estelle Goodwin


A governor of Gorsey Bank Primary School for 10 years. Qualified as a lawyer and worked in commercial litigation and contentious employment law. Founded and ran an international charity with educational projects in the Kibera slum, Nairobi. Recently completed an MA in Creative Writing and has had poems shortlisted in a number of national competitions including the London Magazine, Much Wenlock, Canterbury Poet of the Year and Shepton Mallet.

Tony Graham

Engineering Graduate from Salford University who moved to the local area in 1989 to work for one of the UKs leading Engineering companies.
Still employed by the same company and now involved with the education programme as a school’s ambassador.
A parent governor since 2010 with two children, both of whom have been educated at CHHS from Year 7.

Tony Little


Tony Little is presently Group Chief Education Officer of GEMS Education, responsible for ensuring the quality of education across the global chain. He was previously Head Master of Eton College, 2002- 2015, and prior to that headmaster of Oakham School, Chigwell School, and housemaster of Brentwood School.

36 years’ experience as a secondary teacher in Manchester and Stockport. Has recently worked as a consultant and school improvement partner for 3 Multi Academy Trusts (United Learning, The Midlands Academy Trust and Salford Academy Trust). Is a member of the Local Governing Body of Sheffield Park Academy with a particular overview of the use of data in academic progress. Former Chief Moderator in Religious Studies and Examiner in Economics.

Lisa Woolley


Lisa has spent the last 16 years in primary teaching and as Headteacher of Gorsey Bank Primary School secured consistently outstanding pupil achievement. Gorsey Bank now ranks in the 11th percentile of schools nationally and joint fifth when compared with similar schools.
