The Laurus Trust is pleased to announce the launch of our Section 10 consultations for our proposed new schools, Laurus Cheadle Hulme and Cheadle Hulme Primary School.  As part of the process of opening a Free School, the Department for Education requires a consultation* under Section 10 of the Academies Act 2010.  This enables local residents, headteachers, staff and governors from local schools, parents, elected members, community groups and any other interested parties to share their views.

The consultation period for Laurus Cheadle Hulme and Cheadle Hulme Primary School will run from Wednesday 1st March 2017 to Wednesday 26th April 2017.  This is an important step in our journey to opening in September 2018.  We would like to hear from all the community in the coming weeks to help inform the Secretary of State for Education’s decision on whether to enter into Funding Agreements with the Laurus Trust.  We want to listen to your comments and act on any feedback to ensure our School is the best it can be and meets the needs of the community we serve.

For more information on the Section 10 Consultation process and to complete our online questionnaire, please visit the individual school websites at www.lauruscheadlehulme.org.uk or www.cheadlehulmeprimary.org.uk.

*Please note this consultation is not related to any building or planning applications surrounding the new school; it is solely to consult on whether appropriate persons support the Laurus Trust to enter into a Funding Agreement with the Secretary of State for Education to run Laurus Cheadle Hulme.  There will be a further consultation on the site and building layout in May, ahead of the planning application process.
