A culture of inclusion
Across Laurus Trust schools we foster and promote a culture of inclusion, where every individual has an equal opportunity to succeed and become the best that they can be.
We are committed to ensuring all pupils and students have full access to rich and diverse learning opportunities, which will open the door to the future of their choice. We are just as ambitious for pupils and students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) as for every other young person.
We believe that SEND is not about a label or diagnosis; it is defined by a pupil or student’s presentation of need and the amount of support that is needed to help them make progress in their education and achieve their full potential.
We recognise that each young person is unique and therefore the support that they require should be personalised to their needs.
We invest heavily into our SEND provision and this is reflected in our staffing structures. We have a number of strategic roles centrally, including Trust Directors of Inclusion, a Trust SEND Administrator and a Trust EAL Specialist. We also have a large team of SEND professionals in each school.
