Cheadle Hulme High School and Hazel Grove High School have been using their 3D printers to produce visors for local hospitals, GP surgeries and pharmacies in order to help NHS staff in need of protective equipment during the coronavirus outbreak.

Staff at CHHS were approached by a GP surgery in Macclesfield initially but also produced equipment for hospitals including The Christie cancer hospital in Manchester.

Teachers and support staff are coming together to help distribute the equipment and are taking shifts to help print the visors.

CHHS have joined D&T departments across the country in laser cutting polypropylene designs that are being shared as quickly as possible.

Hazel Grove High School have been producing PPE for frontline NHS staff as well. They have received recognition from the BBC North West Tonight news programme having been nominated for an Everyday Heroes award!
