The Laurus Trust is delighted to welcome Hazel Grove High School, which joins the Trust this week.

This is an incredibly exciting opportunity for the school and for the Trust and Head of School Martin Stewart said: “I have every faith that this next step in the journey of Hazel Grove High School will lead to much success. Hazel Grove High School is a community that puts students first. Our staff are extremely hardworking and want the very best for the students at the school. I feel both delighted and privileged to be the Head of School.”

Martin has been a senior leader at the Trust’s founder school, Cheadle Hulme High School (CHHS), for the past six years. During this time he saw CHHS become an Ofsted-outstanding school.

He has also had the opportunity as an SLE (Specialist Leader of Education) to support other schools, including leading a school in challenging circumstances.

Martin added: “At the Laurus Trust we wish to enable every student to get the very best that they can out of school life, helping them to ‘open the door to the future of their choice’.”

Hazel Grove High School joins CHHS and the Trust’s other schools Laurus Ryecroft, Laurus Cheadle Hulme, Cheadle Hulme Primary School and Gorsey Bank Primary School plus the new Didsbury High School which opened its doors this month.
